Three Sisters Bbq Chinese Restaurant Chinese Restaurant

Overview

Discover Three Sisters Bbq Chinese Restaurant, a welcoming Cantonese and Hong Kong-style eatery at 198 Katoomba St, Katoomba NSW 2780, Australia. For diners exploring the Blue Mountains and craving something warm, generous, and full of flavor, this longtime local favorite is an appealing alternative to more tourist-focused dining. From a food blogger’s perspective, Three Sisters Bbq Chinese Restaurant stands out for substantial portions, traditional Chinese barbecue dishes, fast cooking, and friendly hospitality that gives the restaurant a genuine family-run personality.

The menu covers a broad range of Cantonese comfort food, including BBQ pork, roast duck, sizzling meats, fried rice, noodles, laksa, dumplings, prawns, seafood, vegetables, and familiar sweet-and-sour dishes. Prices are generally considered affordable for Katoomba, especially given the generous serving sizes. Vegetarian and vegan options are available, while practical amenities include dine-in seating, takeaway, reservations, table service, highchairs, and wheelchair accessibility.

A strong introduction to Three Sisters Bbq Chinese Restaurant in Katoomba is the Spicy Salt Prawns. The prawns bring together a crisp exterior, juicy seafood, and a savory salt-and-spice seasoning that delivers plenty of flavor without relying on a heavy sauce. Recent diners have specifically identified both the prawns and prawn dumplings as standout choices, making them excellent options for sharing.

The Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs are another dish worth ordering. Fried until the exterior develops a satisfying texture, the ribs combine savory pork with peppery seasoning and work especially well alongside fried rice. One 2025 customer praised the ribs together with sizzling chicken and chow fan fried rice, describing the entire meal as delicious.

For something especially comforting in Katoomba’s cooler weather, the Laksa deserves attention. Regular customers describe the serving as enormous, and its rich, spicy noodle broth provides a warming contrast to the restaurant’s drier barbecue and stir-fried dishes. Roast duck is another reliable alternative for diners who prefer classic Cantonese barbecue flavors.

Customer feedback consistently emphasizes generous portions and warm service. A January 2026 guest wrote, “Everything we ordered was delicious, and the portion sizes were brilliant.” Other diners praise the staff for being attentive and welcoming. A useful limitation to know is that service can slow during busy periods; one Christmas Day visitor reported a lengthy wait while takeaway orders were being processed.

The dining room at Three Sisters Bbq Chinese Restaurant is small, casual, and cozy rather than luxurious. Basic décor keeps the focus on food, while the lively atmosphere suits families, couples, and small groups. Lunch specials and staff guidance for gluten-free diners add useful flexibility.

For anyone comparing the best restaurants in Katoomba for authentic local dining experiences, Three Sisters Bbq Chinese Restaurant deserves consideration for its spicy salt prawns, pork ribs, laksa, generous servings, and Cantonese character. Call +61 402 811 810 and visit hungry for a comforting Chinese meal after a day exploring the Blue Mountains.

We came in with modest expectations but were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. The prawn dumplings (not pictured) and spicy salt prawns were the standout dishes, really delicious! This spot is a great find for anyone looking for tasty, affordable Chinese food in Katoomba. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved the food and the staff were incredibly welcoming! I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to everyone. We had the chow fan fried rice kinda like, sizzling chicken and salt & pepper pork ribs — everything was so delicious!

We parked opposite this restaurant and decided to have lunch. And it was not disappointing. Fried Pork ribs were the best along with fried rice.

Very impressed with the quality and the portion of the dishes served up by this unassuming family business. We came here on a Sunday night when the hotel restaurant was fully booked out and wasn't expecting much. Adding this as my go to restaurant next time I'm staying in the Mountains.

Three Sisters BBQ Chinese Restaurant is a gem! The cozy, beautifully decorated setting sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. Their BBQ dishes are exceptional—I loved the fried rice and the Three Sisters Special BBQ pork, featuring perfectly cooked chicken, and ribs. Each bite was bursting with smoky, savory flavors. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the dining experience. Portions are generous, and prices are reasonable for the quality. If you’re craving authentic Chinese BBQ, this is the place to go. I can’t wait to return! Highly recommend!
